Man arrested for felony theft of livestock in Covington County
Weston Herrington, 33, of Jones County, was arrested on September 22, 2025. Investigators said he was charged with felony theft of livestock. Herrington is accused of stealing five head of cattle, valued at $10,000, from a property in Covington County.
MALTB agents said the stolen cattle were located and returned to their rightful owner.
“Our cattle producers are the backbone of Mississippi agriculture. When someone steals livestock, they’re not just committing theft — they’re harming families, businesses and entire communities. I commend our MALTB investigators and local law enforcement partners in Covington County for working swiftly to protect our farmers and enforce the law,” said MALTB Director Dean Barnard.
Herrington is being held at the Covington County Jail. Additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
