According to the sheriff’s office, an alleged social media threat may concern the Chesapeake School District. They say school officials are aware of the situation and are working closely with law enforcement on the investigation.
The LCSO says they are taking precautionary measures and will have additional officers on site Friday morning, Sept. 26.
While neither the sheriff’s office nor the Chesapeake Union Exempted Village School District specified which school the alleged threat may concern, Chesapeake Elementary shared a social media post letting parents know the alleged threat under investigation does not involve their campus. They say that, despite their campus not being involved, out of precaution, they may also have an increased police presence, but will operate as normal and follow all safety protocols.
