The all-boys choir made it all the way to the finale — with voting results announced Wednesday night.
The South Side choir finished in 4th place. The panel of judges looked a little stunned, but the decision was made by public voting.
The winner was singer Jessica Sanchez who competed while pregnant with her first child.
In a statement Wednesday night, Cardinal Blase Cupich wrote:
Leo Catholic High School Choir, you made us proud beyond measure! You stood tall and shared your God-given gifts with grace and strength. You showed the world what faith, spirit, and brotherhood look like. Keep singing, leading, believing. God’s not done with you.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the choir has also performed for the Cubs, White Sox and at the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
