BATON ROUGE, La. (
Louisiana First) — The state is experiencing a 911 outage Thursday afternoon.
Acadian Ambulance said 911 phone lines are down in Louisiana, which is also impacting Mississippi operations. If an ambulance is needed, people are directed to call 1-469-513-6577.
Here’s what to know from officials in the Baton Rouge region.
Assumption Parish
The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office told residents to call 985-369-2913.
East Baton Rouge Parish
Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sid Edwards released the following notice:
“A statewide outage is currently impacting 9-1-1 phone services, resulting in temporary disruptions in East Baton Rouge Parish. Residents experiencing an emergency who are unable to connect with 9-1-1 should instead contact the East Baton Rouge Emergency Medical Services at (225) 389-3300. Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.”
Livingston Parish
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said it is not impacted by the outage since it operates on the Next Generation 911 system.
Pointe Coupee Parish
The Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office said to call 225-638-5445 for emergencies. Residents can also private message deputies on Facebook or email dispatch@pcpso.org.
West Baton Rouge Parish
The West Baton Rouge Parish Government said only landline phones can reach their emergency lines at this time. Residents can call 225-490-8589.
The Brusly Police Department said people can call 225-749-2980 for non-emergencies.
