A person was killed Wednesday morning in a construction accident along Interstate 35W in Burnsville.
The Minnesota State Patrol says troopers were first alerted of the incident, which happened along the interstate between Highway 13 and Burnsville Parkway, just before 9 a.m.
Investigators believe a contractor was walking in the construction zone when he was hit and killed by a vehicle equipped with a boom attachment.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident, which happened completely in the construction zone, although traffic in the area was slowed for a brief time.
The investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
