UGI plans gas main replacement in Hazleton
HAZLETON – A natural gas utility is planning to replace a gas main beginning this Thursday in the city.
UGI announced plans to replace a gas main as part of their “commitment to provide safe and reliable service.”
Work will be done beginning Thursday, Sept. 25 on North James Street from 11th to 8th, 9th Street from Hanover Ct. to North James, 8th Street from Hanover Ct. to North Locust, and Penn Court from 8th to 7th.
The work, UGI says, is also an opportunity for homes and businesses along the route to convert to natural gas.
Construction will take place Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm and drivers should expect road closures, detours, and parking restrictions.
The project is expected to wrap up by mid-November
