Section of Sligo Creek Parkway closed for Purple Line construction

SILVER SPRING, Md. (DC News Now) — For about two months, a section of the Sligo Creek Parkway will be closed as crews continue construction along the Purple Line.

A portion of the parkway, near the Silver Spring International Middle School, shut down on Monday, Sept. 22.

While construction is underway, the parkway will be closed between Wayne Avenue and Piney Branch Road. During this time, crews will install tracks across the intersections.

Despite the construction, the community will still have access to the Sligo Creek Trail.
