Jackson police search for missing mother and daughter
According to police, Shardee McGill and her daughter, Janae McGill, were reported missing on September 23, 2025, around 8:30 p.m.
Investigators said they were informed by Johnathan McGill that the two left home on September 21, 2025. They were believed to be in a black 2017 Chevy Equinox. The vehicle was later located in Epes, Alabama, and was not occupied.
Jackson police said they’re working with authorities in Alabama to locate Shardee and Janae McGill. They said Johnathan McGill was taken into custody by the Alabama Police Department.
