CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Hundreds of American Airlines flights were delayed at Charlotte Douglas International Airport Wednesday due to a “technical issue,” the airline confirmed.
More than 220 flights were delayed Wednesday, as of 3:30 p.m.
American Airlines issued the following statement:
“American experienced a technical issue this morning that impacted some of our maintenance applications. The issue has been resolved and operations are returning to normal. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”
The airline said its employees used alternative procedures to close out certain flights, which resulted in some delayed departures and cancellations.
