Our Athlete of the Week is Malakhi “MellyMel” Martin.
Malachi is a running back for the Willie Hall Panthers.
At just 8 years old, Malakhi is already proving himself as a force in the game and a leader among his peers.
The eight-year-old 4th grader is a Principal’s Honor Roll student at Arthur Ashe Charter School. Malakhi maintains a 4.0 GPA and is the recipient of the George Washington Carver Award.
On the field, he scored two touchdowns and ran for 115 yards against the Milne Raiders. Malakhi is also known for his incredible speed. He is officially the fastest 8-year-old in the region and is ranked #14 nationally.
Malakhi finds inspiration in his favorite NFL player, Saquon Barkley, striving to bring the same passion and excellence to every game.
