MEBANE, N.C. (WGHP) — Cone Health is set to move forward with the building of a new hospital in Mebane.

The state approved the medical system’s certificate of need application for a 46-bed hospital in Mebane, according to a Cone Health news release.

The $250 million Cone Health Mebane Hospital will be located at 103 Medical Park Drive near the Cone Health MedCenter Mebane.

The new hospital will include:

  • 46 beds
  • 15 emergency department bays
  • 3 general operating rooms
  • 1 C-section operating room
  • 2 procedure rooms
  • 3 obstetric labor, delivery and recovery beds
  • 7 observation beds
  • Imaging, ancillary and support services

“We’re thrilled to see this project move forward,” Alamance Regional Medical Center President Chad Boore said. “It will make a real difference for families in our region.
