Chicago flight nurses’ shared mission: Motherhood

CHICAGO — They’ve braved turbulence, triaged trauma midair and delivered care from thousands of feet above.

But five Chicago flight medic nurses say their most unexpected rescue mission came not from the sky but from within.

Alex Tang, Michelle Lambright, Kendra Arjes, Sarah Hanko, Caitlin Kilcoyne are University of Chicago Aeromedical Network flight nurses.

And these airborne heroes found themselves grounded by motherhood, all at the same time. They discovered they were expecting their babies within a few months of each other.
