Medications such as insulin, GLP-1s, and pediatric antibiotics are now available to Utahns through same-day delivery.
Samantha Smith with Readhead Marketing & PR said that prescriptions will arrive in insulated, light-protected packaging. Safe temperatures and light-exposure protection will be maintained for up to three hours to preserve quality and safety.
Delivery options include Same-Day Scheduled, On-Demand, or Express delivery. Customers will be asked to apply insurance and provide an electronic signature upon receipt.
On Walmart’s Newsroom, Kevin Host, senior vice president of Pharmacy at Walmart, said, “we continue to unlock new levels of convenience while also broadening access to critical medications. Adding refrigerated prescriptions to our Pharmacy Delivery capabilities is the result of listening to our customers, identifying where we can create even better, seamless experiences and keeping the communities we serve at the heart of what we do.”
Smith said that Walmart has already fulfilled more than 4 million pharmacy deliveries nationwide. The refrigerated prescriptions represent more than 30 percent of Walmart Pharmacy sales.
