PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — A 42-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting early Tuesday morning in the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia. Police are searching for four individuals who were caught on camera running from the scene, one or two of whom were believed to be the shooter.

Around 12:30 a.m., police received several 911 calls about a shooting on the 4600 block of Torresdale Avenue. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man who was bleeding heavily from both legs. The responding officers carried him into a police unit, then rushed him to Temple University Hospital to undergo surgery. His condition was last listed as critical.

Investigators said 20 shell casings were found at the scene, and they believe two semi-automatic weapons were fired during the incident. In the preliminary investigation, detectives do not believe that the victim was armed with a weapon.

No other injuries were reported in this shooting. Four cars were damaged and seen with bullet holes.

Police are using three Real-Time Crime cameras that captured the incident and spotted the group of men running from the scene following the shooting. They were last seen running north on Torresdale Avenue, then banking west on Margaret Street. Detectives are also retrieving the footage from surveillance cameras that were installed on nearby businesses and private properties.
