Ohio dispensaries see high demand for pre-rolled joints

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Ohio dispensaries have experienced a surge in demand for pre-rolled joints since they were authorized to sell them to recreational users a month ago.

In August, the Division of Cannabis Control revised its regulations to allow certain processors to market pre-rolls, contingent on obtaining state approval. This change has led to increased customer activity at dispensaries like Nar Reserve.

“Getting them from the processors, there hasn’t been really a lot of brands with approval to sell them,” said Darius Walters of Nar Reserve. “There are more brands coming. And hopefully, that will be sooner than later for the people because the demand for the people is really hot. We sell out daily, and we’re really thankful for the pre-rolls that we do get. But the demand is so high. Literally, they’re here and gone.”

Despite the increased demand, some processors struggle to meet the needs of dispensaries, as they are only able to supply single pre-rolls rather than multi-packs.

The Division of Cannabis Control maintains that medical patients are not permitted to purchase infused pre-rolls, which contain additional concentrates.

As more brands receive approval to sell pre-rolls, dispensaries anticipate being better able to meet the high demand from recreational users.
