ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Chicago Rockford International Airport is set to launch a new bus service next month, allowing travelers to go through TSA security in Rockford before being transported directly to their gate at O’Hare Airport.

This new “American Airlines Landline” service aims to combine the convenience of passing through security in Rockford with the extensive travel options available at O’Hare. Travelers can enjoy a more streamlined experience, especially beneficial for families and those with special needs.

“When you’re traveling with your family, or you’re traveling with someone that has either special needs or a disability, or even just someone that’s a little uncomfortable, being able to travel and do that service through Rockford is just so much easier,” said RFD executive director Zack Oakley.

The bus service is expected to offer cost savings for travelers. Parking at Rockford Airport costs $9 a day, which is about half the cost of the cheapest parking option at O’Hare.
