IMPD: Man arrested for selling drugs that caused death of 2 women on near northwest side
According to court documents recently filed in Marion County, 44-year-old Kadeem Roache was charged with two counts of dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death, each a Level 1 felony.
On Aug. 11, 2024, officers with the northwest district of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to a home in the 2200 block of Riverside East Drive on a welfare check.
When officers arrived at the home, a news release from IMPD stated that two women were located and were unresponsive. One of the women was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was taken to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The release said that evidence at the scene led detectives to believe that the two women had died as a result of a fatal overdose. As a result of the investigation, Roache was identified as the suspect who supplied the two women with the drugs.
IMPD officials said in the release that this is the ninth arrest for dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death since the department’s overdose death task force was established in 2024.
Roache’s initial hearing is scheduled for Wednesday morning in Marion County, according to court documents.
