At Thursday’s City Council meeting, Ald. Timmy Knudsen (43rd Ward) plans to introduce an ordinance that would allow dogs inside city eateries.
Restaurants are currently banned from serving customers with dogs, either indoors or outdoors, unless it’s a service animal.
Ald. Knudsen worked with the city’s Department of Public Health to create the proposal. If approved, there would be a limit of one dog per table.
Food prep areas would be off limits and dogs can only be served water either by their owners or by restaurant employees.
The City Council could vote on the measure next month.
