Additional arrest made in Louisiana homicide cold case

TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — There has been a development in a Terrebonne Parish cold case homicide that happened nine years ago.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced Monday, Sept. 22, that a third arrest was made in connection with the 2015 murder of Pamela Johnson of Bourg.

The investigation revealed that on Dec. 1, 2015, two girls who were allegedly kidnapped from their home were found on Wade Street in Houma. Deputies add that the suspect allegedly shot Johnson, their aunt.

On Sept. 16, deputies announced the arrests of Charles Johnson, 70, and Shannon Robinson, 43.

Johnson was booked on charges of first-degree murder and solicitation for murder, while Robinson was booked on charges of first-degree murder, solicitation for murder and aggravated kidnapping.

Further investigation led detectives to identify John Fitzgerald Bonvillain Jr., 40, as a suspect.

Bonvillain, who was already in custody on unrelated charges, was arrested on Sept. 19 and booked on allegations of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

Soignet says the investigation into the case remains ongoing with the possibility of additional arrests as they continue to pursue leads.

“Our Detectives have shown incredible persistence and determination in seeking justice for Pamela Johnson and her family. This third arrest marks another significant step forward in a case that has remained unresolved for far too long. We remain committed to uncovering the truth and holding all responsible parties accountable,” said Soignet.
