The university recorded 7,274 students in 2025, an increase of 787 from 2024. This represents a 12 percent year-over-year rise, a 37 percent increase over five years, and a 60 percent increase over the past decade.
ACU President Phil Schubert attributed the growth to several factors, including a larger freshman class, retention efforts, and expansion of online programs.
“The high numbers we’re seeing this year, and for the past seven years, confirm that students are attracted to our unique offering: a world-class academic education delivered in a Christ-centered community,” Schubert said. “We are committed to welcoming each of them as an integral part of our mission to educate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world.”
The 2025 freshman class consists of 1,031 students from across Texas, other states, and multiple countries. The group includes 22 valedictorians, one National Merit Finalist, two semifinalists, and 31 international students. The most popular fields of study include nursing, kinesiology, finance, psychology, and management.
Retention from the first to second year among residential undergraduates reached 82 percent in 2025. The university also reported its highest four-year graduation rate to date.
Enrollment in ACU’s online programs increased by 25 percent in 2025 compared to 2024, with undergraduate online enrollment up 39 percent and graduate enrollment up 13 percent.
