Soft lockdown lifted at Callaway High and Gardner Newman Middle Schools

UPDATE: LAGRANGE, Ga. (WRBL) — The Troup County School District says the soft lockdowns at Callaway High School and Gardner Newman Middle School have been lifted.

LAGRANGE, Ga. (WRBL) — A representative for the Troup County School System says Callaway High School and Gardner Newman Middle School are both currently under a soft lockdown.

Law enforcement in the area is investigating an incident near the schools. Officials say students and staff will remain in their classrooms and visitors will not be allowed on campus until the issue is resolved and the lockdown is lifted.

Everyone is safe at this time and the lockdown is just a precautionary measure, the district says.
