Shooting on Beechcrest Drive leaves one dead in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after one person was killed during a shooting.

Interim Jackson Police Chief and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said the shooting occurred in the 300 block of Beechcrest Drive on September 22, 2025. Jones said the unidentified victim was shot at least once.

According to the interim police chief, a male suspect was detained away from the scene for questioning.
