According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers received a report that indicated two people with apparent gunshot wounds had walked into Community East Hospital — which is located at 1500 N. Ritter Ave. — around 7 p.m. After they got the report, police went to the hospital to begin an investigation.
When officers arrived at the facility, they confirmed that two people had, indeed, walked into the facility with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. IMPD reported that both of the shooting victims were awake and breathing when officers found them at Community East Hospital.
It is currently unclear if the two victims IMPD found at Community East were injured in the same shooting. Police are still working to determine exactly where the shooting victims were wounded.
IMPD confirmed that, during the investigation that spurred from officers’ trip to Community East, two additional juveniles were arrested. Those juveniles have been preliminarily charged with dangerous possession of a firearm and possession of a machine gun.
