Door dash driver alerts police to hostage situation after delivering suspicious items to Sweetwater motel
The driver called police after bringing these items to the Sweetwater Inn on Georgia Avenue around 11:30 a.m.
Police did confirm the driver placed the call and was suspicious due to his delivery, but they did not disclose what items were ordered. Witnesses told KTAB and KRBC this suspect had items like trash bags, zip ties, bleach, a hatchet, and more.
When officers arrived at the suspect’s motel room, they did find a hostage being held inside.
This hostage was quickly rescued then arrested for an outstanding warrant. The suspect was also arrested on warrants and charges related to the hostage situation after a brief standoff involving officers from the Sweetwater Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The suspect has only been publicly identified as a Snyder man. No further information, including his identity or charges, has been released.
