SPANISH FORK, Utah (ABC4) — One juvenile was taken to the hospital after being stabbed during an altercation outside of a homecoming dance at Maple Mountain High School on Saturday.
Spanish Fork Police says they were dispatched to Maple Mountain High School around 9:20 p.m. on a report of a stabbing. Police say an altercation between juveniles took place in a parking lot east of the school where the dance was being held.
Officers from Spanish Fork Police along with Spanish Fork Fire & EMS arrived to find a 17-year-old male who had been stabbed in the leg by another juvenile. The victim was treated on scene and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The 16-year-old juvenile suspect fled the scene and was located shortly after by officers, and was taken into custody. The juvenile was booked in Slate Canyon Detention Center on one count of Aggravated Assault.
The incident is still under investigation.
