A Marion County woman has been arrested for stealing items, including a disability check, from the home of a man she used to live with in Baxter County. Thirty-four-year-old Neoskaleta Amber Lynn Elliott, AKA Amber Elliott, of Yellville is facing three felonies in connection with the case.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the victim is currently incarcerated in the Baxter County Detention Center. He and Elliott had lived together in a platonic relationship but she had moved out last fall and was told not to return.
While visiting her son’s house, the mother noticed a window air conditioner had been removed. After talking with their son, the parents determined a VA disability check, a computer, Beats headphones, vehicle titles, motorcycle helmets, clothing and other miscellaneous items were missing. The victim also said he had two months worth of VA benefits in his bank account in the amount of $942. When they checked, his account had a balance of 29 cents.
The victim conversed with Elliott and asked her several times to release his property to his father and deposit his money into his account commissary account at the detention center. Elliott said she would, but never did. Investigators verified the conversations by reviewing the recorded phone calls.
Elliott is facing felony charges of residential burglary, forgery and theft of property. She is free after posting $25,000 bond.
PREVIOUS ARRESTS
Elliott has five previous felony arrests in Arkansas dating back to 2014. Her charges include theft of property, theft of a credit or debit card, forgery, possession of drug paraphernalia, furnishing prohibited articles and driving on a suspended license.
