Prince George’s County woman accused of fatally stabbing grandmother appears in court

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (DC News Now) — A Prince George’s County woman accused of stabbing her grandmother to death was in court Friday afternoon for her bond hearing after being on the run for days.

A judge granted 28-year-old Breante Thomas a mental health evaluation.

Police said Breante Thomas stabbed her 81-year-old grandmother, Helen Thomas, to death inside her home on Bonhill Drive in Fort Washington, along with another man.

A preliminary hearing for Breante Thomas is scheduled for Oct. 17 at the Prince George’s County Courthouse in Upper Marlboro.
