Pedestrian hit, seriously injured in Petaluma
Petaluma Police Department officers and paramedics with Petaluma Fire Department responded to the emergency and found the injured pedestrian lying in the road.
“The extent of injuries to the pedestrian is unknown currently,” Petaluma PD said. “The driver is cooperating with the investigation.”
The driver and pedestrian were not intoxicated at the time of the crash, police said. The driver remained at the scene and the cause of the crash is under investigation
“We want to remind our community that pedestrian safety is a shared responsibility,” Petaluma PD said. “Drivers should slow down and remain alert. Pedestrians are encouraged to use marked crossings and stay visible, especially in low light conditions. Together, we can help prevent these types of accidents and keep our streets safe for everyone.”
