The Mountain Home Public Schools Board of Education met for 1 hour and 16 minutes Thursday evening.

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a report from Nicole Hobbs on unsatisfactory facilities for the wrestling team.

Assistant superintendent Judy Lawrence delivered the academic report, recognizing Jack Coleman and Caiden Kaspar for being named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists. It was also announced Pinkston Middle School has been designated an Arkansas Diamond School to Watch.

The student transfer update included nine students transferring out of the district and four transferring in.

In the facilities report, Chris Knight told the board the Guy Berry roof project is 80 percent complete and remains on pace to be finished by the end of October.

In safety and security report, Eddie Helmert stated Clay Maxey has donated a vehicle to the district for use in the safety and security department.

The board approved its lone action item, a budget adjustment, unanimously.

In her update, Superintendent Allyson Dewey said a special board meeting focused on academics is scheduled for Sept. 29.

The board then moved into executive session.
