AMBER Alert cancelled after 11-year-old found safe

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — An AMBER Alert for 11-year-old Amelia Santiago has been cancelled by the East Hartford Police Department.

The alert was cancelled at approximately 2 p.m., and the department said Amelia has been recovered and is safe.

East Hartford police said Ricardo had an active federal warrant and attempted to flee the area with Amelia.

Shortly after the AMBER Alert was issued, Ricardo and Amelia were located in Hartford. Ricardo is currently in custody and Amelia is safe and unharmed, according to police.
