Resident, cat escape Abilene fire without injury
ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A resident and cat escaped a fire in Abilene without injury Friday afternoon.

The fire happened at a shed where people were living on the 2600 block of China Street just before 12:30 p.m.

First responders arrived on scene to find smoke and flames coming from a shed that had been converted into living quarters. The fire had spread to a nearby vehicle as well.

One resident and her cat were able to make it out safely, and no injuries have been reported in connection to this fire, which is still under investigation. It caused an estimated $35,000 worth of damage.
