Plume of smoke seen from afar, Horseshoe Casino evacuated

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A large plume of smoke clouded one of Bossier’s most distinctive tourist attractions.

Reports from city representatives share that around 6 p.m. on September 18, 2025, an electrical fire at the Horseshoe Casino prompted an emergency evacuation.

Power to the casino boat had been disconnected as the details on what sparked the fire were investigated.

The smoke was determined to be caused by an electrical fire, Louisiana State Police (LSP) responded to the scene and eventually gave the all clear for power to be restored.

The casino later issued a statement regarding the fire “Earlier this evening, a fire broke out just outside the Horseshoe Bossier City gaming vessel. Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of our Team Members and emergency personnel, all guests and staff were safely evacuated without injury. The fire was quickly extinguished, and Horseshoe Bossier City has resumed normal operations.”
