Crews with Lily Fire & Rescue wrote on Facebook that around 2 a.m. on Sept. 18, firefighters were dispatched by London-Laurel County 911 in response to reports of a vehicle fire on the 1300 block of Fairston Road.
When crews got to the scene, the vehicle was “fully engulfed” in flames, Lily fire crew members wrote. A nearby residence and an “outbuilding” were also heavily involved, with “multiple small explosions” detected inside.
A neighbor told first responders that a woman living there might still be inside, and crew members said Chief Dougie Jones was able to go in, find her, and get her out of the residence without any injuries.
Officials said the fire was massive enough that Lily fire crews were helped by various other fire departments and emergency personnel.
Lily’s first responders said the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fires.
