WALDORF, Md. (DC News Now) — The Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said that shots were fired in a school’s parking lot during a football game on Thursday.

In a post on the X platform, CCSO said that a group of minors started to “congregate” during a football game at St. Charles High School.

The minors left on their own before the game ended.

Shortly afterwards, officers, including the school resource officer, heard “several gunshots” coming from the parking lot before the minors were seen running from the area.

Nobody was hurt during the incident, but police said that one vehicle was damaged.

The game ended without any further incident, according to CCSO.

Anyone with any information should call (301) 932-2222 or 1-866-411-TIPS.
