Financial infrastructure platform Velocity.xyz bridges traditional finance and digital assets through stablecoin payments. Stablecoin platform Ubyx.xyz aims to standardize redemption and expand adoption across traditional finance. In this week’s #BlockchainThursday, we’ll introduce you to a fintech company building infrastructure for stablecoin-powered payments: Rain.xyz.
Rain.xyz is the online home of Rain, a fintech company that develops financial infrastructure connecting blockchain settlement with traditional financial systems. The company offers tools for issuing stablecoin-powered cards, wallets, and payment programs, aiming to make stablecoins usable for everyday transactions. In August 2025, Rain announced a $58M Series B funding round led by Sapphire Ventures, with participation from Samsung Next, Dragonfly, Galaxy Ventures, Endeavor Catalyst, Lightspeed, and Norwest. The company has raised a total of $88.5M to date.1
As showcased on its website, Rain provides a single API for issuing branded debit and credit cards that are backed by either fiat or cryptocurrency wallets. The company’s infrastructure includes fraud prevention tools, regulatory compliance support, and integration with payment networks like Visa. Rain also offers services for fiat-to-stablecoin conversion, allowing businesses to process cross-border transactions, manage payroll, and support instant settlements. Its offerings are designed to help enterprises build neobanks, support contractors, and expand digital asset utility.
According to LinkedIn, Rain is co-founded by CEO Farooq Malik and CTO Charles Yoo-Naut. Farooq previously participated in the Marshall Memorial Fellowship at the German Marshall Fund of the United States and held leadership roles in technology and innovation. Charles co-founded onboarding platform Playbook HR, which was acquired by Intuit, and worked as a principal software engineer at Intuit as well as a program manager at Microsoft.
Rain.xyz is a concise and memorable domain name that reflects the company’s brand. Its brevity makes it easy to type and share, reducing the chance of user error when navigating directly to the website. The use of “Rain” aligns with the company’s name, while .xyz supports its positioning as a forward-looking platform in the digital asset and payments industry. You can learn more by following the company on LinkedIn @rainxyz and X/Twitter, and by visiting Rain.xyz.
