WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Looking for things to do across the DMV on a budget and don’t know how to spend your days off? Or are you new to the area? Well, you’re in luck.

In DC News Now’s DMV Download, hosts Kaitlyn Dillon and Makayla Jennings explore upcoming events and hidden gems across D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

In episode seven, learn more about Theodore Roosevelt Island, the upcoming Conan Gray and Hemlocke Springs performance, and events including:

Old Town Manassas Oktoberfest

  • Starts Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Manassas Museum Lawn from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine
  • Live German music, beer garden, German food, arts and crafts, and competitions, including:
    • Beer Stein Holding Contest: How long can you hold a filled stein without giving up?
    • Mr. and Mrs. Oktoberfest: Come dressed in your best Oktoberfest outfit to win the title of Mr. and Mrs. Oktoberfest
  • Free admission with free parking available in nearby areas.

H Street Festival 

  • Saturday, Sept. 20, on H Street, NE, spanning across 3rd to 15th St. from noon to 7 p.m. 
  • Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the festival with live performances across multiple staging areas, lots of food, a mile-long shopping experience, and more
  • Free admission, but you must rsvp tickets beforehand
  • Meet some of the DC News Now team who will be handing out goodies and hosting a meet and greet with Karamo Brown, host of the Karamo Show and Queer Eye

The Great Frederick Fair

  • Began Sept. 12 but last day is Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. 
  • The festival originated in 1882 to promote the agricultural industry for the youth, with this year’s theme being: Egg-cited for the Fair! Fun that will ruffle your feathers!
  • Features horse shows, harness and thoroughbred racing, draft horse and mule competitions.
  • Admission for adults (ages 11+) is $10, or purchase a ticket in advance online for $8
  • Children ages 10 and under get in free
