According to police, the stabbing unfolded on a Westbound CTA Blue Line train near the Cicero stop in the 700 block of South Cicero Avenue.
Officers said the victim, a 21-year-old woman, was riding the train when multiple male offenders approached her and got into an argument.
The argument eventually escalated into a fight and officers say that was when one of the offenders pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the woman several times.
The officer said that following the stabbing, the individuals responsible fled from the train.
The victim eventually arrived at the Oak Park stop, where she exited and called authorities.
She was later taken to the hospital, where she was listed in fair condition.
Currently, it is unclear what led to the altercation and authorities say no arrests have been made.
