Mohammad Salem from Rockford and Kiki Fisher from Roscoe were selected by a group of 48 Rotary Clubs across Northwest Illinois.
“I’m really excited. You know, it’s not all the time where you’re given the opportunity to do something really great,” said Salem, who graduated from Auburn High School and Yale University.
“I can’t thank the Rotary Foundation enough and Rotary International and, of course, District 6420, just being is a real honor,” said Fisher, a Hononegah High School and Bradley University graduate.
Salem will study public health at Oxford University starting in October. He expressed his enthusiasm for the scholarship, noting his interest in global health challenges and making the world a better place.
Fisher plans to pursue her master’s degree at the University of Crete Medical School in Greece next month.
