San Francisco pizzeria ranks among top 10 globally

(KRON) – The Fremont-born 13-time World Pizza Champion and renowned San Francisco restaurateur’s pizzeria has been recognized as one of the best in the world–again.

The Guide to the Best Pizzerias in the world ranked Tony’s Pizza Napoletana as the tenth best pizzeria in the world and the third best in the US.

The publication dubbed the creator of the pizza shop, Tony Gemignani, “the prodigy of American artisanal pizza.” Gemignani’s website says that he is “driven by a love for flame, flavor, and creating something truly special.”

Per the pizzeria’s website, Tony’s has a full bar and seven ovens. The restaurant has a variety of pizza styles, including New York, Detroit, St Louis, New Haven, Sicilian, Grandma, Romana and more.

Gemignani also has a fast-casual dining pizzeria, Slice House, which has more than 25 locations spanning multiple states, as far east as Tennessee.

Slice House has three upcoming locations in Livermore, Millbrae, and Milpitas.
