NOTTINGHAM, Pa. (WHTM) — The Pennsylvania-based Herr Foods, Inc. which is celebrating 80 years of history here in the Keystone State, just announced a leadership transition.

According to Herr Foods, Inc., starting on September 1, 2025, a 2nd generation family member, Ed Herr, transitioned into the role of Executive Chairman of the Board.

“Leading Herr’s has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Ed Herr said. “I am deeply proud of the growth we’ve achieved and the strong culture we’ve built together. With Troy’s leadership, I am confident Herr’s will continue to thrive for generations to come.”

Furthermore, a 3rd generation family member, Troy Gunden, has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer and President.

Herr Foods says Troy Gunden has worked at Herr’s for the past 21 years, serving in multiple leadership positions. Most recently, Gunden was serving as Herr Foods Inc.’s President for the past six years.

I look forward to building on the foundation my grandparents and the 2nd generation created, as we continue to deliver the snacks people love and trust.”

According to Herr Foods Inc., the snack company was founded in 1946 and is currently based in Nottingham, Pa.
