Oregon’s Jerry Mixon earns Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon linebacker Jerry Mixon was named the Big Ten Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week on Monday following the Ducks’ 3-0 start to the regular season.

UO is coming off a 34-14 win at Northwestern over the weekend.

Mixon currently has a 91.5 overall defensive grade from Pro Football Focus, which puts him at No.1 among FBS linebackers. He is the first Oregon player since Khyree Jackson (2023) to pick off a pass in consecutive games.
