Carson Warr, 34, was charged with aggravated kidnapping (first-degree felony), aggravated assault with serious injury (second-degree felony, with the domestic violence attribute), and aggravated robbery (first-degree felony).
Warr pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault, and both were amended to third-degree felonies with the domestic violence attribute as part of a plea deal. The aggravated robbery charge was dismissed without prejudice.
According to the charging documents, Warr got into an argument with the victim “about a money issue.” While they argued, he pushed the victim into a kitchen counter, and that gave her a broken rib.
He took the victim’s keys and phone, and he forced her to drive him from Logan to Salt Lake City. He also forced her to withdraw $140 from her account at an ATM and took the money from her.
They drove back to Logan, and she stayed with Warr for the rest of the night, “fearing he would be mad at her if she tried to leave,” according to the charging document.
Warr has a history of domestic violence. In Salt Lake City in 2022, he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child. He also has several drug-related convictions on his record.
