List: 51 immigrants convicted of various felonies detained in ‘Louisiana Lockup’

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Gov. Jeff Landry said the public can expect to see “the worst of the worst criminals” being housed at the new ICE detention center at Angola Prison.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released the names and criminal history of the 51 currently detained at the facility, which Landry dubbed “Louisiana Lockup.”

“Murderers, pedophiles, rapists, and child predators. These are the barbaric criminal illegal aliens arrested by ICE and being held at Louisiana Lockup,” said a DHS spokesperson. “If you are in America illegally, you could find yourself in CECOT, Cornhusker Clink, Speedway Slammer, or Louisiana Lockup. Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S.”

The DHS refers to the inmates as criminal illegal aliens. Twenty-six are convicted of murder, eight convicted of rape, eight convicted of sexual exploitation of a minor, and nine convicted of sexual assault of a minor. The agency states that the partnership with the state of Louisiana enables ICE to expand detention space by up to 416 beds.
