BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — A 23-year-old Belvidere man is dead after police say he crashed into a tree while trying to take a curve early Thursday morning.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the accident scene at Shaw Road, north of Shaw Mills Lane, around 4:16 a.m. and found the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Juan Paulino, 23, dead at the scene.
Investigators said Paulino was driving a 2005 Lexus LS430 southbound on Shaw Road when he left the roadway.
The crash is still under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, officials said.
