LAFAYETTE, Ind. — One person is dead after a motorcycle crash in Lafayette on Wednesday night.

According to the Lafayette Police Department, around 9:03 p.m., police responded to the 2500 block of South 18th Street on a report of a crash between a motorcycle and a Jeep SUV.

When first responders arrived, they attempted life-saving measures on the driver of the motorcycle before they were declared dead.

The crash is still under investigation, but police believe that the motorcycle hit the rear end of the Jeep.

The name of the victim will be released once next of kin notifications have been made, police said.

No other details have been made known at the time of this article’s publication.
