Washburn’s Crane Observatory hosting Observe the Moon Night

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Washburn University’s Crane Observatory is set to host “International Observe the Moon Night” on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

“International Observe the Moon Night” is a worldwide public event that encourages the observation, appreciation and understanding of our moon and its connection to the world around us. If skies allow for clear and safe observing weather, this annual event will provide the public a chance to view the moon from an antique telescope running inside the Crane Observatory.

Crane Observatory is located on the fourth floor of Stoffer Science Hall on the campus of Washburn University. The event is totally free to the public, and if weather isn’t permitting, the planetarium will instead screen a show about the moon.
