San Jose father killed in head-on crash ‘brought so much love’ to family
On Sunday night at 11:13 p.m., the California Highway Patrol was alerted to a two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 59 south of Washington Road. CHP’s preliminary investigation determined that Jackson was driving alone in his car northbound when, for unknown reasons, the driver and sole occupant of a southbound car crossed the broken center line directly into the path of Jackson.
Both Jackson and the other driver, identified as Susana Esquivel, 28, of Atwater, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
“He brought so much love and light into our lives,” a verified GoFundMe page for Jackson states. Jackson leaves behind two children along with his fiancée, parents, brothers and sisters.
“Though his time with us feels far too short, the love he poured into his family will live on through his children,” loved ones wrote.
The GoFundMe is raising donations for a “dignified and heartfelt send off.”
CHP said the fatal collision remains under investigation.
