HAZLETON – Authorities have identified the three victims in a triple-shooting in Hazleton over the weekend.
Vanessa Bigg-Carr and Miguel Lara were killed in the shooting at Hilltop Apartments on Broad Street Saturday evening, police said.
Patrick Hearst, the third victim, is in critical condition.
Police said officers were called around 5pm Saturday to the apartment complex and found two people had been shot. One — Bigg-Carr — was pronounced dead at the scene while the other — Hearst — was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
A third person — Lara — was found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
City officers were assisted by officers from West Hazleton, Butler Township, Sugarloaf Township, Beaver Meadows, Weatherly, Penn State Hazleton, and the State Police at Hazleton.
