JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A man was convicted of running over and killing the mother of his twin children, according to the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office.
Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens said Emmanuel Guerrero, 23, was found guilty in the death of his girlfriend, 23-year-old Monique Martinez.
On October 4, 2022, police said Guerrero and Martinez were involved in an argument on Creston Avenue in Jackson. They said the confrontation escalated when Guerrero got into his vehicle, struck Martinez with his car and repeatedly ran over her body. She died at the scene.
Police said Guerrero ran away from the location, but he was arrested by Jackson police on a nearby street.
Guerrero was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
