They said customers who are not set up with an account are receiving water services without paying for them. Officials with JXN Water said they’re developing better tools to identify unauthorized usage and disconnect service until an account has been established and balances are paid.
Wingate’s order required JXN Water to increase outreach about this issue and encourage customers without accounts to open one and address any past-due balances before being disconnected.
JXN Water officials said a new webpage (http://jxnwater.com/KeepCurrent) will assist customers with a variety of account-related issues. It will provide resources for customers who have not received a bill, need to initiate an account, get current on past-due balances, or restore service after a shut-off. The website will be live within the two-week timeline given in the order, according to officials.
The JXN Water Call Center (601-500-5200) is available to assist anyone in checking their account status and provide instructions on how to establish an account. Customers who need to meet in person with a JXN Water representative may also call the Call Center.
